AI Voice Agent

An AI voice agent answers your business phone for you and talks to the caller naturally. It greets them, answers their question, books their appointment and brings you in when it matters β€” while you are busy with something else, and at midnight.

This page is written for businesses that cannot get to the phone. If you run a call center and are thinking about concurrency and PBX integration, the AI call center page is closer to your situation.

What a missed call actually costs

An unanswered phone is the most expensive and least visible loss most small businesses carry. A missed call records itself nowhere: it does not appear in a report, nobody complains, and at the end of the month it reads as "a bit quiet lately".

Yet someone who phones is further along than someone who fills in a form. They found the number, dialled it, and were willing to have a conversation. And that person usually does not call back β€” they call the next business on the list.

A rough sum: three missed calls a day is about sixty people a month who could not reach you. Assume only a fifth of them would have become customers and the number still lands well above most businesses' monthly software budget.

Calls also go missing precisely when you are busiest β€” you are with a customer, your hands are full. The phone starts getting missed exactly when business is good.

What the agent actually does

When the phone rings, the agent picks up and starts talking. The caller does not navigate a menu or press anything; they just say what they need, and the agent answers from what you have told it about your business.

Answers questions

Hours, prices, address, what you do β€” from the information you upload.

Books appointments

Checks your calendar, offers a slot, writes it in, reschedules, cancels.

Takes messages

Captures the caller's name, number and what they wanted.

Puts them through

Transfers the call to your mobile or a colleague when it matters.

Calls people back

Reminders, confirmations and follow-ups, in the hours you allow.

Leaves you a summary

Every conversation's transcript and summary waits in the dashboard.

What a day looks like

Concretely, a hair salon β€” the same shape holds for a dental practice, a garage or an estate agent:

TimeWhat is happeningWhat the agent does
09:40Phone rings mid-colourAnswers, offers Saturday 14:00, writes the booking in
13:15Lunch, nobody in the salonAnswers a price question and turns it into a booking
18:50Ten minutes to closing, caller asks about tomorrowGives the open slots and books one
22:30ClosedAnswers, books; leaves a message if it is urgent
Next morningYou open upOvernight summaries and new bookings are already waiting

The gain here is not finding new customers. It is not losing the ones already trying to reach you β€” usually the cheapest growth available.

Which businesses use it

The common thread: businesses that run on appointments, or where the phone is the front door to a sale, but that have nobody dedicated to answering it.

  • Salons, beauty and aesthetics: heavy booking traffic, staff permanently occupied with a client.
  • Dental and medical practices: a missed call is an empty slot.
  • Garages and repair services: callers are usually mid-problem and do not phone twice.
  • Estate agents: missing the caller who saw the listing wastes the advertising that produced them.
  • Restaurants and cafΓ©s: reservations and takeaway orders, exactly when the room is full.
  • Small agencies and consultancies: first-contact triage before a proposal.

How to set it up

No code β€” it all happens in the dashboard.

  1. Create the agent. How it greets people, which voice it uses, what it is allowed to do.
  2. Upload your details. Services, prices, hours, common questions.
  3. Connect your calendar if it will be booking appointments.
  4. Connect a number. Bring your existing one or take a new one.
  5. Call it yourself. Run the first test, read the answers, adjust the instructions.

The safest start is out-of-hours only. The risk is close to zero, because the alternative in those hours is a phone nobody answers. Once you have seen it work, move it into the day.

What it will not do

Setting the expectation beats being disappointed later:

  • It will not negotiate or make exceptions. Discounts and judgement calls stay with a person.
  • It will not push through a tense conversation. An upset customer gets handed to a human, not managed by the agent.
  • It does not know what you have not told it. That reads as a limitation but it is a protection: it will not invent an answer.
  • It does not replace your team. It takes the repetitive, predictable part and leaves the rest to you.

Languages, pricing and data

Languages: the agent speaks 40+ languages and can greet each caller in their own β€” multilingual answering on a single number, which matters for tourism, health tourism and export businesses.

Pricing: start free with no commitment, then move to a monthly or annual plan. If you run out of minutes you add a prepaid pack; there is no metered overage. See the plans .

Data: call recording is optional and can be switched off entirely, so you can run on transcripts alone. GDPR and KVKK detail lives in the Data Processing Addendum .

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI voice agent?

Software that answers your business phone and holds a natural conversation with the caller. There is no menu to press through: the caller says what they want and the agent answers. It handles questions, books appointments, takes messages and reaches you when it should.

Will callers know they are talking to AI?

The voice is natural and the conversation flows both ways, but the aim is not to fool anyone. You decide how the agent introduces itself, and most businesses have it say it is an AI assistant up front β€” setting the expectation correctly tends to raise satisfaction rather than lower it.

Do I need to change my phone number?

No. You can connect your existing number over SIP, so customers keep calling the number they already know. You can also take a new number through Jently if you prefer.

Can I use it only after hours or when I am busy?

Yes, and it is the most common way to start. Run the agent evenings and weekends only, or as a layer that picks up whenever you cannot. You answer during the day; the agent catches what would otherwise be a missed call.

Does it really write appointments into my calendar?

Yes. During the call it checks availability in your Google Calendar, offers a time and writes the appointment straight in. If the caller later cancels or reschedules, it updates the entry.

How does it know about my business?

You tell it. Your prices, services, opening hours and common questions go into a knowledge base, and the agent answers from that. It does not improvise from general knowledge β€” when it does not know, it says so.

What happens when it cannot answer something?

Rather than inventing an answer it either transfers the call to you or takes a message. If nobody is reachable it saves a summary of the conversation for you to read later. You decide which happens when.

Some of my callers do not speak English. Is that a problem?

The agent speaks 40+ languages and can greet each caller in their own. For tourism, health tourism and export businesses, multilingual answering on a single number can replace hiring for language coverage.

How long does setup take, and do I need technical skills?

You work through a dashboard; no code is involved. Creating the agent, uploading your information and connecting a number can be done in an afternoon. The longest part is deciding what you want the agent to say.

Can I try it for free?

Yes, there is a free plan with no commitment. From there you move to a monthly or annual plan; if you run out of minutes you add a prepaid pack, and there is no metered overage to surprise you.
